Betty is a shy cat that came from a house with many other cats. She tolerates cats in her space but doesn't appreciate pushy or rough play. Wand toys are definitely the way to Betty's heart. She enjoys chasing them more than anything and her favorite ones are the ribbon toys. Betty is not fond of humans in her space. She will occasionally sniff people's hands and accepts offerings placed in front of her but will tell off anyone who tries to touch her. Jen is a sweet 5 year old cat who has been our longest resident at the shelter. Jen loves people and gets along with some dogs and cats. Jen can be a bit of a bully and does best with cats that let her be in charge. She has some special needs including a Urinary Hairball food diet. Jen does have some litter box issues and does better when there are multiple clean litterboxes available. Jen's favorite locations are up high and in the sun. Bitsy is a five year old Jack Russell Terrier. She is bonded to her brother Gio. She can be nervous at first with new people but loves soft stinky treats and warms up for them. She likes to go on walks through the woods and try to hunt small animals. Bitsy and Gio have lived with older children and liked cuddling and playing with them. Gio is a 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier bonded to his sister Bitsy. Gio is a typical bouncy Jack Russell who wants to go go go. He loves to walk in the woods and try to hunt small animals. Smudge is an older male cat who is used to ruling the roost. He was previously an indoor outdoor cat but needs meds every 12 hours.
The meds aren't very expensive and he eats them in his wet food. In his previous home he would act out if not allowed outside but he doesn't seem to mind being inside here and we have even started harness training him so he can still enjoy the outside. Smudge does not appreciate other animals in his space but he likes people. He doesn't always want pets but he likes to be held and sit in laps. Smudge is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered.

Oreo is a younger vocal cat who is used to living with one owner. She is slow to warm up to new people but loves treats and wet food. Once she is comfortable she likes to pet herself with people's hands and sit in laps. Oreo also loves to play and bat toys around. Dennis is a big goofy boy. He loves cookies and enjoys trick training. He can sit and lay down on command and we have been working on teaching him a touch cue. Dennis enjoys meeting new people and is housebroken. He has met teenage volunteers and does well with them but he can be bouncy and might knock over smaller children.
