Smudge is an older male cat who is used to ruling the roost. He was previously an indoor outdoor cat but needs meds every 12 hours.
The meds arent very expensive and he eats them in his wet food. In his previous home he would act out if not allowed outside but he doesnt seem to mind being inside here. Smudge does not appreciate other animals in his space but he likes people. He doesnt always want pets but he likes to be held and sit in laps. Smudge is up to date on vaccines and nuetered.

Tom has a big personality in a little body. He has lived with many other little dogs but doesnt have a ton of experience in the world. Tom woud do best in a home with other dogs to show him the ropes and with a patient human who can teach him. Tom doesn't really know what to do on a leash but he is getting used to seeing the outside and going potty on walks. He is food motivated and likes squeeky toys but he is nervous with new people. His favorite toys are cat mouse wand toys, he loves to chase the little mice around as people swing them back and forth. He might need more than one visit to be comfortable going home with someone but once he knows a person Tom likes to give kisses and sit on laps.

Sassafras is a black shorthair male cat. He is a shyer cat but he tolerates petting and will come to people for wet food. He has lived with many other cats and a dog in the house but kept in a separate area. Sassafras is neutered and up to date on shots. Pierce is a super sweet sassy young boy. He enjoys playing and is super silly with catnip. He enjoys attention from people and loves pets but does occasionally play with hands and is sensitive on his lower back. Pierce seems to tolerate both dogs and cats. Hillary is a sweet senior kitty. She enjoys pets, treats, and talking to her people. She loves wet food and will love all over someone for her snack. Hillary seems to get along with the other cats at the shelter although the younger rambunctious ones do sometimes annoy her. She does not seem to enjoy dogs moving near her and will smack one that gets too close. Hillary loves to sit in sunspots and look out windows. She is very curious and explores everywhere she can get. Frisky Business is a feisty senior lady looking for her perfect retirement home. We have her estimated at 18+ years old. She enjoys cozy warm beds, and a nice hearty meal. Luke is a silly bouncy younger dog. He has lived with another dog and a cat in the past. He is higher energy and loves to go on walks. His leash skills have been improving on a harness but he does pull on a collar. Luke is very toy and food-motivated and loves to learn new things. We have started clicker training with him and he knows sit shake and touch so far.

Bruno is a big bouncy baby. He likes to play fetch and will do tricks for his balls. His favorite toys squeak but he likes regular balls and treats as well. Bruno is very high energy and thinks he is still a tiny puppy. He loves people and is very outgoing. We have been working to teach him to be calm but he does still jump and occasionally is mouthy when he is excited. Gene is a slightly nervous little dog. He does better around other dogs and he really enjoys treats. Gene has been learning about leashes and walking. Zoey is a fluffy sweet momma cat. She has lived with cats and has been around dogs. She can be a bit bossy but she likes attention. Zoey loves treats and to chase balls and a laser pointer. We have even been teaching her to sit! When Zoey is done she will sometimes tell people with her nails but when she is not spicy she demands all of the attention. She is applying to be the top office cat often knocking pens and papers off the desk. Zoey has been spayed and is up to date on vaccinations.

Meet Ziggy! This goofball with a massive head is looking for a home with lots of chew toys and someone to love him. Ziggy loves hard rubber toys and is very food-motivated. He has been enjoying clicker training and is very intelligent. So far he has learned sit, shake, down, stay, go around, and is learning to weave and middle. He does occasionally pull on leash when excited but has been learning quickly and responds well to being called back. Ziggy does have separation anxiety and will need someone to work with him to build trust. He is quick to love anyone with a treat but does get attached quickly and is occasionally protective of his people. Ziggy plays with other dogs through a fence and has met some on lead but he tends to roughhouse too much for some dogs. Betty is a shy 2-4-year-old cat that came from a house with many other cats. She tolerates cats in her space but doesn't appreciate pushy or rough play. Wand toys are definitely the way to Betty's heart. She enjoys chasing them more than anything and her favorite ones are the ribbon toys. Betty is not fond of humans in her space. She will occasionally sniff people's hands and accepts offerings placed in front of her but will tell off anyone who tries to touch her. Jen is a sweet 5 year old cat who has been our longest resident at the shelter. Jen loves people and gets along with some dogs and cats.
