​Volunteer

Volunteering at our animal shelter is a great way to give back and make a difference in the lives of animals. Our volunteers are the backbone to our shelter, providing a wide range of duties, from helping with the daily care of the animals to helping with fundraising events. We accept volunteers of all ages and backgrounds and provide training in the areas you would like to help. We are always looking for volunteers to join our team! We have a variety of opportunities available and offer flexible scheduling options. Whether you're ready to commit to a weekly schedule or just have 10 minutes here and there, we'd like to have you involved.

What kinds of things can volunteers do to help? There are many different kinds of activities, including reading to shy cats, entertaining playful cats with toys, brushing cats, giving an animal a few minutes of your undivided attention, preparing enrichment items for the animals, walking dogs on our trails, giving a dog the opportunity to play outside, off-site dog walking, helping the dogs improve their manners and skills, laundry, general cleaning, and maintenance. Have an idea to help the animals that you don't see listed? We want to hear it! We're always open to new ideas for making the animals' stay with us the best it can be.

To get started, please complete a volunteer application. It is available at the shelter, but can also be filled out online using the links below and emailed to info@trilakeshumanesociety.org. Once received, you'll be contacted to set up a meeting for a program overview and to determine the best fit for you and the shelter
